So.. the prime minister makes mistakes… the people representatives question him…. Somebody explain to me what is wrong with this? Why is this bad for the country? Isn’t this why there are parliaments in the whole world?

Examine the questions so far:

Ahmad Al-Mulaifi asked:

1) There is 200 Million KDs that vanished from the country’s account, where did it go?
2) There are 5 guys whom were granted Kuwaiti citizenship without any justification. Can you explain why?

Then you hear people say that there are hidden agendas behind Al-Mulaifi’s questions!! wtf? ok lets go along and say the man did have hidden agendas. Don’t you still wanna know the answers to these questions. For god sake, 200 MILLION KDs just vaporized!!!!

AL-Tobtoba’ey Asked:

A man who is banned by court from entering the country, was allowed to enter. Why?

Again I heard of hidden agendas behind Al-Tobtobaey’s question. Alright, I understand the emotional contreversary behind that particular case (Religious figure and all). Lets say it was another man who is charged with a different crime, would you still be okay with him entering the country after being banned from doing so?

I think hotels are starting to miss the point behind the "Do Not Disturb" sign we place at the room doors. Last night I placed the sign on my hotel room aiming for a long relaxing sleep; the next day a phone call wakes me up with a woman on the other end asking me when do I want to clean my room!

So instead of waking me up by knocking on the door, they do so by calling thinking they respected the "Do not disturb" sign. Idiots.

This happened to me twice in two different hotel

Democracy in the Islamic World

I read recently that Kuwait’s Parliament issued some kind of a law to ban the presence of the two female ministers in the parliament because both ladies do not comply with the parliament’s rules of Islamic dress code (specifically not wearing hijab).

This immediately reminded me of a similar law issued in the past by Turkia’s parliament; only the turks did it the reverse way. The Turks banned a female parliament member because she was wearing Hijab.

What attracts my attention here is the fact that Parliaments were created to implement democracy and democracy’s basic essence is the freedom of choice. And in both cases, both parliaments violated women’s basic rights of choice… the choice whether or not to wear Hijab.

That’s democracy is in the Islamic world… Democracy as long as it goes according to what we like.

I hate internet censorship… I can’t stand internet censorship… every time I put a url in my browser and instead of enjoying reading the contents of that page I get "This website has been restricted based on the instructions of the Ministry of Communication.", I feel like killing myself.

I have recently bursted in anger after reading an official letter sent to the Minister of Communication telling him to block YOUTUBE.COM………….. wtf ?

I thank god that the new minister is one with a good open mind that is till resisting those ignorant fools whom are trying to block the most popular and most entertaining site in the world simply because some idiot posted videos on youtube that are against Islam!!… what’s next? block google.com because you can put in the search some words against islam and it would return sites that are against islam?

Give it up fools…. the only way to sensor the internet is to completely ban internet… oh damn… I better not say these things out loud… it might give these idiots an idea to actually implement that. Yikes!

Back From The Dead

Hi all.. Its been nearly 3 months since my last post. I got really busy for a while then when things cooled down, I had a hard time picking up the momentum to write again. However, I have finally decided to get off my lazy butt and pick it up again.

I truly thank all my friends here who have asked about me one way or another. It’s really good to have friends like you.

I have always had an opposition to any form of internet censorship or limitation for freedom of speech online…. but this is beyond anything I have ever even imagined….

For god’s sake….. DEATH??…. what government gives the right to itself to execute anyone for writing about any topic in their blogs?

Wondering thoughts: What if?

What if we take 1000 men and women of various intellectual backgrounds (scientists, doctors, engineers, teachers, priests, etc), and put them a new planet with only the clothes they’re wearing, how would they live?

Imagine that these people will find themselves in a place that has nothing of the modern world. Only them with trees, animals, and water. Would they be able to recreate the modern life? how long it would take them? They would lack the very basic things needed for modern life (no energy source, materials, tools, factories, etc etc)

Would they have to reinvent everything? Or would the scientist know the inventions, but they just wouldn’t be able to implement them?

Alright… I’m officially sick of it…. I can’t stand it anymore.. it’s in my eyes, in my mouth, in my lungs, inside my ear, on my desk, on my car, it’s everywhere! SAND!! Sand is everywhere… what happened to our country? Wassup with all this sand in the air? We’ve had sandstorms before, but nothing ever like this.

Hasn’t anyone else noticed that year after year the sandstorms are growing in both duration AND intensity? Does anyone remember any year when we had continuous sandstorms for 6 months? Does anyone remember having this many THICK sandstorms in one year? I wonder what damage to our health this sand is inflecting. Don’t count on big brother to tell us anything true; they have history of public deception when it comes to environment and public health. But all this sand we’re breathing, must be doing something bad to us.

So if these damn sandstorms continue to increase in duration and intensity and with it increase our health damage, how long it would take before we can declare Kuwait as…. uninhabitable?

Three weeks ago, I decided to to see for myself why all this hype about this PC Game: World of Warcraft. What’s so special? Why are people around the world so excited about it?

Big Mistake!!

For the past 3 weeks, I have been doing nothing but playing this game. It’s like drugs… Now I don’t know how to snap out of it. I don’t think I have ever played a video game that managed to grab my interest as much as this one does.

Wondering Thoughts: What about the Jin?

Jin (ghosts?) exist. Quran and the Prophet told us they exist and so we’re obliged to believe in the Jin. Quran told us that Jin is the 2nd intellegent being on this earth with humans. The brings intriguing questions in my mind:

What’s stopping the Jin from showing themselves to us? Why can’t our world cross with their world? We’re told that Jin are everywhere… we’re told that some even live in the very same houses we live in. So why can’t they just get visible and introduce themselves to the human kind.

Maybe the Jin can’t be visible to human eyes. Maybe the Jin are forbidden by God to show themselves to humans. Maybe they have their own strict laws about appearing to humans. But if saw, why?

Should I care if you don’t follow my religion?

Why do we care so much what others believes are?

Why do we hate someone for nothing other than not sharing the same religion / mathhab as we do?

Why does someone else religion matter so much to us?

Questions that came across my mind lately. I thought about this purely from a logical point of view.
Why does one practice a religion? to go to heaven.
So does practicing any religion or math’hab have any outcome in the present life? No, religions rewards or punishments come only in the after life.
So if another person is following a different math’hab or religion than I do, would that have any impact on my current life at all? No because religions outcomes only come in the after life, not this life.
Okay then would this person’s belief impact me in the after life? No because god said every one for himself.

So…. if another person’s religion cannot impact my present life or my after life, then why the hell should I care about it? I shouldn’t……

Was Adam really the first?

It is well known and proven by historians that Adam, the father of humans, lived 12,000 years ago. However, today we found remains of what is known as the ancient man which lived more than 3 millions years ago!! This ancient man left drawings on his caves and left tools which he built which means he had some intelligence.

If Adam was the first human, then who was the ancient man that lived before Adam?!?!

Since this is starting to generate the much expected "are you kafir?" comments, allow me to elaborate my theory on this.

I have no doubt in my mind that Adam was the first human, the first of this human age!! I believe that there was multiple ages of humans that passed on this earth and each had their own judgment days. For example, the discovered human remains that goes back 3 million years are actually for a whole human race that lived that time and reached their judgment day. Then came another group, and those in turn had their judgment day and finished, and so on until now when we and our Adam came.

Soon we will have our judgment day and be all out of this earth, then there will be another set of humans to populate the earth where they will wait their judgment day. Life goes on.

The Quran never dismissed this theory nor has ever confirmed. it. Makes a wonderful philosophical debate

The Kuwaiti version of “Women Rights”

The Kuwaiti culture is so contradicting it amazes me. Things that happen here could never be seen outside. I think sometimes we suffer from an identity crisis! Take for example the women rights movement here….

Kuwaiti women fiercely fought to have equal rights with men in filling big jobs and voting in the parliament. They made a case after case to prove that they’re capable of accomplishing the toughest jobs including being Parliament Members or Ministers. However, when it comes to stepping out of their cars, grabbing the gas pedal, and filling their cars, "OH NO…. we’re women… we can’t do that… every station must have a banghali to do it for us" !!!!!!!

Why is all this hype with Adnan Abdulsamad and Ahmad Lari in Kuwait?
Because they said what they said about Emad Maghneya? So what? that’s their opinion!

If you don’t agree with it, say so, and move on with your life. You and I are big boys and girls… can’t we take it like ones and move on? You probably said a lot of things that these two guys don’t agree with, yet they never asked for your citizenship to be revoked! (Remember how we supported Saddam in the 80s over Iran even though he was the aggressor?)

I personally completely don’t agree with what they said; if this guy Emad
did indeed kill innocent Kuwaitis, then the hell with him. But what I’m trying to say here is: these two guys simply exercised their rights for free speech. They didn’t harm you, they didn’t throw stones at you, they didn’t kill anyone; they simply spoke up their minds. THAT IS DEMOCRACY. Free speech no matter whose feelings it hurts, should not be punished for.

And why? because 17 years ago, Yaser Arafat supported Saddam Hussain over us; so we decided a life-time sentence on all Palestinians that they are enemies!! I couldn’t even believe my ears hearing an Adult Kuwaiti Man saying "let them burn in hell… why should we care?… they supported Saddam over us".

Who are "they"? is she one of "they"?

Arabic ministers of information met lately and came up with a new joint agreement to create a law that would "coordinate" the Arabic satellite channels. Basically the law is to give the Arab governments more control over what should and what shouldn’t the channels broadcast specially political views that don’t agree with their own.

But that’s not the biggest problem here…. check this out…. the new law doest not only prohibit broadcasting unapproved material, but also it prohibits watching!

A government can arrest anyone who watches a channel that doesn’t follow the government rules!!

So far lets see what we have:

If you follow international news, you might have lately heard about the conflict in Chad (African country sharing borders with Sudan). The rebels in Chad have now entered the capital of Chad and are getting close to overthrowing the government. There is something interesting about this conflict.

Chad government has been a supporter for the rebels in Darfur who fight the Sudanese government. So what does Sudan do about it? Sudan government now supports the rebels in Chad who fights the Chadian government and the Chadian rebels are now near overthrowing the Chadian government.

This reminds me of an old song by Dr Dre in which he said: "You F**k with me, now its a must that I F**K with you"

There is a place in this world… where Muslim girls are forced to take off their hijab before they enter the university… it must be Frace… they are known to be anti hijab…. no its not france.. hmmm… then it must be Denmark.. they always say bad things about islam.. no not denmark…

The picture below… is an actual picture of turkish mulslim girls taking off their Hijab at the university door so they can be allowed to enter and take their education!!

Yes ladies and gentlemen… the girls in the picture are not in a European Christian country.. they are not in Israel… not in a communist country… this is happening in a full fledged Muslim Country one rules the whole muslim world… Turkia!!

I’ve criticize how bad our government is.. but it is things like these that just makes me think… "well at least our women would never have to make a choice between hijab and education".
