Most people are dissatisfied with the way they look to some degree. I am sure you know at least one person who is worried about her/his appearance. For example when people go out, they usually stare at other people and focus on the details of others' personal appearance and compare them to draw negative conclusions about themselves. What makes them feel dissatisfied with their appearance? In other words, What makes them have a negative body image? The answer is: Celebrities.

In the 50's, Marilyn Monroe’s figure was seen as desirable. Since that time the ideal body shape for women has become gradually thinner. Unfortunately, for many people the ideal body of their times is difficult (if not impossible) to achieve. At this time, women are becoming thinner and thinner. Blame who? Paris Hilton?
Seriously, two years ago the girls who were overweight, a few days back, I saw the same faces but on skinny bodies. Skin and bones, people! Not to mention the new noses and chins. Everyone looked like a celebrity at that wedding. Yes, dear readers, Kuwaiti women in particular, are now looking better than celebrities.
However, to me, what is sad and upsetting is that there are people who could not become that because it's physically impossible, and because they have limited happiness to looking this way, they are depressed and socially isolated. They have been avoiding social gatherings and occasions because they feel less attractive or not attractive at all.
Some are too obsessed, they constantly seek reassurance from others that they look good or at least 'normal'. Like at the wedding:
Scene #1: Papillona & Flana: Someone I barely know.
Papillona: Hi flana
Flana: Hiii Papillona! How have you been?
Papillona: I've been great, and you?
Flana looked around and came closer to ask: Do I look good?
Papillona: Of course!
Flana: what about my hairdo?
Papillona: It's a bit weird... but it's not bad at all! *smiling*
(I wonder which celebrity or insect she wanted to look like)
Scene #2: Papillona & The Bride
Papillona: You look amazing (ityaninneeeeeen! gomar gomar)
The Bride: Really? really Papillona? tell me the truth
Papillona: Bride! It's not the right time to obsess about your appearance! You look amazing, I MEAN IT! All eyes on you and zillions of cameras!!!! now act a little confident (fashalteena!)
Yuba you have gotten it wrong for many years because right now, where you are, as you are is never enough. This is wrong! Just be kind to yourself, you must learn to accept yourself unconditionally - that you are perfect exactly as you are.
*I wonder if you'd be happier if you put as much effort into accepting yourself as you do into changing yourself
