I just bought this Foley + Corinna Handbags Patent Savvy Tourista in Sandstone from RevolveClothing.com. I’ve always loved Foley + Corinna Handbags Classic Mid City Totes but found them too bulky to carry. The Foley + Corinna Savvy Tourista caught my eye for its sleek lines and the contrast between its white leather and black patent leather. This is the second bag I’ve bought this year that’s had patent black leather detailing, my first being my electric blue Olivia Harris satchel (which I love!).

Originally priced at $575 (KD156), the bag was on sale for $144 (KD39). A steal, right? But I double-checked at one of my favorite shopping secrets, Retail Me Not to see if they had any discount coupons for RevolveClothing.com. They did! I got an additional 25% off the price and bought the bag for $108, only KD29! I saved KD127!

I love my Foley + Corinna Savvy Tourista and am ecstatic that I got it at such a bargain price. Do you get giddy like me when you find a great deal shopping?

Winter Wishlist: Leather Jacket

Have you finished buying your winter wardrobe? A true procrastinator, I usually wait until the weather cools down before investing in a fun new collection. Here in Kuwait, you never know if winter will arrive! I’ve bought many of the basics, such as chic cashmere sweaters and hot boots, but there are a few wardrobe staples that I haven’t managed to find yet.

The first thing on my list is a leather biker jacket. I already have a gorgeous long leather coat that’s lasted a few winters, but it’s time for a change. I’m loving the Alexander McQueen leather biker jacket from Browns Fashion, but not the price tag! With our short winters I’m not willing to spend GBP2,375 on a jacket, no matter how amazing it is. Have you spotted any cool leather jackets on your shopping trips? Do you have a leather jacket in your closet?

Love or Hate? Michelle Obama’s Narciso Rodriguez Dress

I’m delighted that Barack Obama is now the President-Elect but all I could think while watching him celebrate with his family was, “What is Michelle wearing? That dress is terrible!” It turned out I wasn’t alone. Many of my friends were distracted by her Narciso Rodriguez dress from the Spring 2009 collection. Others compared her to a black widow spider, not the most flattering thing considering the circumstances!

Yesterday’s rainy weather gave us a taste of what to expect this winter. Have you bought all your winter wardrobe and footwear yet? I usually wait until the cold gets here. I don’t trust that Kuwait’s winters will last long and I have plenty of winter clothes and boots that are practically brand new.

I’m loving all the different styles of boots all the stores are offering up this season. From cute booties to dramatic over-the-knee boots, there’s something for everyone. My favorites are knee-high boots, but I wear ankle boots more. What is your boot style?

I’m in love with the latest Louis Vuitton item, diamonds in the shape of its well-known symbols.

“We wanted to produce diamonds that resemble the Louis Vuitton brand,” says Albert Bensoussan, watch and fine jewelry director at Louis Vuitton Malletier, which has just launched two of its own patented diamond cuts.

Bensoussan is referring to the standard diamond shapes on the market—square, emerald, cushion and round—as a point of contrast to the two new shapes that Louis Vuitton has created and patented. Mirroring the monogram flowers that appear on Vuitton bags and trunks, the two different cuts are a rounded flower diamond (with curved petals) and a pointed flower diamond (with sharp petals). A brilliant-cut diamond—which essentially means a stone chiseled to create multiple facets, which in turn augment its white-light reflection, or brilliance—typically has 58 facets. The Vuitton diamonds have between 61 and 77 facets and have been set into a bracelet, a pair of earrings, two brooches, a ring and a necklace—the latter consisting of 1,001 tiny brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 15 carats, coexisting with 65 round flower diamonds (49 carats) and 79 pointed ones (44 carats), for a combined bling bang of 108 carats that retails for about $4 million. Vuitton has dubbed the collection Les Ardentes, which translates roughly as “the blazing.”

Now that the weather is getting cooler and we’re all preparing for what exists of the fall season in Kuwait, it is only natural to think of nail polish colors that matches the season and most importantly our closet (at least nail obsessed people like myself are).

Personally, I go to NStyle in Al Bustan Complex religiously since that is the place I felt the most comfortable in to get pampered. I truly enjoy their quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and the girls who work there are just extremely pleasant. I get french gel overlays for my fingernails, since I love having my fingernails “permanently” looking clean and shiny.

At NStyle I always have a hard time picking a color from their large variety of colors offered by Essie not even to mention the season colors Essie provides. This Fall season Essie is offering 4 colors:
