I’m posting this as a request from Vyyvaa
I hope it helps :* Sis your too young for this so dont read bas i know you will read it anyway
When I first got married, i got alot of advice about not having a baby until after a year so if the marriage doesnt work a baby wont be a “victim” and it wont complicate things and all that. I’m still a student at university, so my choice of not having a baby until after a while is not because of peoples advice.. but because i wanted to see how i can work my marriage and continue my education without any of them interfering with the other. After 7 months i saw that i could do that. Ofcourse all through that time people were wondering “why isnt she pregnant yet?” “Is there something wrong with her?” ect. After 7 months i saw that i’m nearly graduating and my classes are less per semester which is easier and i’m at home more.
At first i knew nothing about TTC and what to do. I tried the “traditional” way, without counting because i still didnt know anything about that. And then after my first HPT (home pregnancy test) turned negative i was disappointed and started researching online. So my best friend for 5 months TTC was a fertility calender from babymed.com, I would do everything i learnt online (prop your behind up with a pillow afterwards for 20 minutes and all that). And each time i would get a negative. I wouldnt bother to wait till “you know what” was late, I just couldnt wait and was nervous and wasted ALOT of money on HPT’s.
I gave many reasons for these “negatives”. I would really burn myself up thinking “If only i took the elevator instead of the stairs”, or “If only i walked slower to class that day i was late”, “If only i parked closer to campus so i didnt have to walk that much”. Nope, none of that is the reason. I know a girl who ran a marathon while pregnant, she has a healthy baby girl now.
So that was it, i got fed up, we agreed that if it didnt work this time we would go and get fertility tests. So for the last time i put in all the info in the fertility calender, but this time i changed a number. And that number made all the difference. The two weeks before your next menstrual period is called something beginning with an “L” i forgot what it was. Anyway on average this period is 2 weeks. And to get pregnant you ovulate on average 2 weeks before your period. Thats how i used to count, but the month where it worked i said “what if this was shorter for me?” less than two weeks. And thats what worked.
I got pregnant on cycle day 18. The average is cycle day 15. Many websites teach you how to count, and many count for you. Every month i would enter my data onto this calender [babymed.com] And it helped me and taught me alot. Many of my friends are using it as well. It is also my only form of birth control right now. I also learnt alot of things about my cycle and my body and it is really important to know these things and the “important” days in the month (not your period but also ovulation, and many things) and not only know them if your trying to get pregnant, just know your body.
I hope i helped, I will continue part 2 which is the pregnancy itself next time. Any questions, or anything that is not clear please dont hesitate i will be happy to explain. Remember everyone is different and the same at the same time
